Things to do in Hornsea

Honeysuckle Farm

Honeysuckle Farm is a family owned and operated open farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We are an open farm. Not a farm park so if you visit us expect to see a real working farm with a commercial herd of cows, dairy cows and a flock of commercial sheep. We also have goats, fish ponds, play areas, horses, red squirrels, a café and many picnic areas. We have been open for public visits since 1992 and we offer a unique and quirky experience of what it is like to run a farm with all its fun, challenges and tribulations in the present economic climate. If you want anthropomorphised animals try a theme park. If you want the real deal then visit Honeysuckle Farm to feed animals, watch a milking display (the milk is processed into ice cream on the farm), have a horse and cart ride with one of our huge Shire horses and chat to the farmers.

Customer Review – Lovely family run, rustic farm experience with charm. It did not have the mass commercial aspect that other farms have but we loved it and preferred it. My daughter and son fed the baby goats and sheep. We enjoyed a horse and cart ride (£1 per person) and the staff were lovely and informative. My son particularly liked the fish and it was great to be able to feed them. Great wooden play equipment dotted in the woods and we found a great butterfly tent tucked away. Very reasonable day out and we were there almost all day. Finished with an ice cream made with milk from their jersey cows which was delicious. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Hornsea Mere

The Largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire and listed as one of the Severn Natural Wonders of Britain. For boating and sightseeing of nature

Customer Review – I have always loved Hornsea Mere. Visiting my younger days and now taking our Grandsons to feed the ducts, swans, etc. It is a very lovely peaceful place when there aren’t too many people about but I love it anyway. We have watched others boating but not done it ourselves. It’s one of those special places with not too many activities but enjoyable to just sit and watch the world go by.

Hornsea Freeport

Hornsea Freeport is set amongst attractive landscaped surroundings and with a wide range of factory outlet stores, all offering up to 50% off famous brands, Hornsea Freeport is the perfect place to indulge in some retail therapy.

Customer Review – Hornsea Freeport is one of my favourite places to visit. I have been going for over forty years when they sold a large amount of pottery. I bought tons of it and used it for many, many years after which I gave it to a young couple who loved it.
I love the clothes shops; they are always a happy bunch of people and very helpful. I love the unique gift shop where I have purchased a great amount of my Fairyland which I love. Pavers are a great shop too. I always buy my winter shoes there. The Works are there too and I’m always in buying for the Grandchildren at very reasonable prices. The staff in there know us now and always happy to see us. I think it’s a lovely place to go. There’s a cafe, a shop who sells delicious icecream and of course Beach Cove where children have a great time.

Hornsea Golf Club

Why not visit Hornsea Golf Club on the East Yorkshire coast for a memorable day’s golf? Lying some 15 miles from Hull, Beverley and Bridlington, the golf course is arguably the best in the region. We also offer a Golf Society Day or a Corporate Day.

Visitors are welcome on any week day after 9.30am except Tuesday mornings, on Saturdays after 2pm and after 11.00am on Sundays subject to availability.

Customer Review – Played today with the martonian golf society and the Course is in great condition ! Some lovely holes very well thought out .. well positioned bunkers .. great Tee boxes & greens it really was a joy to play ! Only very small criticism is some of the grass round the tree plantations maybe could of been shorter (semi rough) height to help find balls but that’s been picky . Great breakfast & half way house service with warm pastries etc all in all a great day out . Thank you

Hornsea Beach

Hornsea is a classic seaside resort with an extensive sand and shingle beach. A long promenade with newly-landscaped gardens, old wooden breakwaters, plenty of parking and easy access to town facilities.

Customer Review – This is a beautifully clean beach, with miles of wide, undisturbed beach to wander along. Large public car park a minute walk from the seafront (but there is free on street parking a few streets back). Public toilet, pub, shops and fish and chip shop all within easy reach too.

As you can see from our list there is plenty of things to see and do in Hornsea with lots of choice when it comes to eating wether you are with family or friends.
