Lovely choice of daily specials but the pizza looked too good to miss.
Stunning light dough with just the right amount of super tasty toppings. Finished off with an affogato and liqueur. Service was friendly and welcoming.

A wide range of tasty Thai dishes; Appetizers, soups, curries, noodle and rice boxes, stir fried, Thai salads and some kid’s dishes. Most dishes are offered with a choice of meats, king prawn or a vegetarian option. Some only lightly spiced with others more so!!! We have an Authentic Thai beach style bar offering Thai Beers and spirits as well as a large wine list.

Customer Review – We have been ordering food from Bamboo Thai since it opened. So happy to have this little gem near our house. Food is always fresh and delicious. Does get very busy at times (because it is so good) but it is always worth the wait.
I have always found the staff to be polite and friendly – even when they are rushed off their feet.

Customer Review – Great evening out exploring York after dark with Mad Alice as our guide. Really interesting learning about the gruesome history of York. Mad Alice was an excellent guide, very entertaining and knowledgable. The tour was more focused on the history of York compared to a classic ‘ghost tour’ however definitely recommend doing for a fun and informative evening!

Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park – Great For Kids

Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park is a visitor attraction in the beautiful historic arboretum at Askham Bryan College. Our mission is to inspire and educate future generations to respect and conserve animals and plants.

Customer Review – We visited here whilst on a short break in the area. We arrived just as the reptile experience was beginning, and then simply followed one of the members of staff around as he fed the various animals over the course of the next couple of hours. Jake was therefore essentially our tour guide and he proved to be an excellent one, endlessly patient as our 11 year old daughter and her friend asked loads of questions and a seemingly never ending font of knowledge! We saw marmosets, wallabies and meerkats who are all in separate areas but the distances involved are very manageable for younger children, who also have a pretty good play area to entertain them should their interest in wildlife wane. There is also an indoor area with fish, frogs etc. All in all an extremely positive experience at a very reasonable price!

Yorkshire Balloon Flights

Yorkshire Balloon Flights is an independent, family run business offering Hot Air Balloon Rides from York, with unrivalled views of the historic city and it’s surrounding landscape.

Customer Review – Ollie and Neil made the whole trip a never to forget event – from lifting the basket off the trailer on a sunny mist strewn Knavesmire to packing the balloon away on a stubble corn field outside Riccall.
We were up up and away in every sense of the word – there is nothing more to say other than if you do it you will not regret it.

National Railway Museum

FREE ENTRY Home to iconic locomotives and an unrivalled collection of engineering brilliance, we celebrate the past, present and future of innovation on the railways. Dedicated to igniting our visitors’ curiosity about the people, places and engineering marvels behind the railways, we put our passion for amazing stories into everything we do.

Customer Review – Going back after 12 years was a shock, so much has changed and certainly will do for the future, saw the Stratford to Moreton tramway and it’s history, we see a little which still remains in Stratford upon Avon, an amazing place to go around and to be able to see the Mallard experience, for myself was great, shame at present the Flying Scotsman is not there, she makes my day, as I can remember her passing us many times when younger on regular service, what is going to be done with all the artefacts you hold as due to Covid-19 this are not being seen, which is such a shame as so much is there, hopefully they will be on display in the future, wish you well for the future with all the plans we saw.
