Heron Lakes Expansions Update!

Here at Heron Lakes Holiday Lodge park we are well on the way with the expansion work. The mindful expansion will include more lodge plots, new lakes and a cafe / bistro on site.

The boating lake is now well under way with the first plots already taking shape and two of these have already been reserved! There is another 12 plots available along the largest lake we have on site. These plots can accommodate twin lodges, whether it be a glass fronted beauty or a traditional style lodge there is no doubt it will look at home here.

We have also been very busy on the ‘Fountain Lake’ with progress been made every day, we are sure this is going to be a stunning area of the park.

So what’s next?

 

Another exciting addition to the boating lake will be a Cafe/ Bistro. Currently Heron Lakes has no onsite facilities, and that is all about to change

A cafe bistro will be the first addition in terms of facilities to Heron Lakes. We hope the cafe will be a great meeting space and a hive of excitement when it’s up and running.

Heron Lakes is known for its stunning lakes and the impressive wildlife that comes with it. Extensive thought has gone into how Heron Lakes should continue to hold onto the coveted title.

As is the nature of Heron Lakes, over the years the park has become a recognised nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary for migratory birds, local wildlife and endangered species. Conservation efforts are at the forefront of everything that will happening on site. With specialist measures to make sure the fauna and flora will be minimally changed and protected, All additions to the park will be under the train eye and supervision of Ecologists and Landscapers. Heron Lakes will soon be an even more spectacular nature reserve.

Top tips for preparing your Holiday Home for Winter

The Big Freeze is Back!

Yes, it’s that time of year again, when everything is covered in a smattering of frost, all sparkly and picture postcard perfect. A great time to get the fires roaring and get all snuggled up.

To keep this winter stress free here are some tips to make sure your Holiday Home is winter proof this year!

Not in your Holiday Home this winter?

Preventing pipes from bursting.

The one thing we all dread in winter, the possibility of a water pipe bursting when you just want to relax and snuggle up. With a few easy fixes, this possibility can soon be a thing of the past.

1. Insulate external or exposed pipes – simple but effective, this keeps the metal from coming into contact with the freezing air keeping the pipes at a constant temperature.This also stops heat loss making your holiday home more efficient.

2. Keep your Holiday Home at a minimum temperature of 5-12 degrees celsius at all times when possible, allowing air temperature to circulate above freezing.

3. For those choosing to leave holidaying for the summer months,  a ‘drain down’ is recommended.  Making sure when you get back to your Holiday Home, there is no unexpected occurrences that could have been prevented the previous winter.

Controlling excess moisture / condensation.

Condensation or excess moisture build up is mainly due to air flow or lack of it and temperature regulation.

With most lodges and caravans being predominantly double glazed and central heated this shouldn’t be too much of a problem, however here are some simple hacks to keep the moisture under control

1. Salt – yes that condiment we all will probably use daily is a great absorber. Adding a bowl of rock or flaked salt to a room or an affected area, (ie the window) will soak up extra moisture. A simple and effective hack.

For a standard option, Moisture traps or dehumidifiers can be bought to combat added moisture over the winter months.

2. Increase Air flow – Again another simple but useful tip. Moisture build up is predominantly down to lack of the moist air being able to escape. Just making sure your ventilation isn’t obstructed. Another option is to simply leave internal doors ajar allowing air to circulate.

Tackling these main culprits is the easiest way to ensure your Holiday Home is protected over the winter months. Why not give yourself peace of mind so you can sit back and relax.

1.All of our are lodges built to British structural standards. All walls are 5 inches thick as well as central heating and double glazing. These lodges can withstand all of the British weather that will be thrown its way.

2. Most our Caravans depending on the model, come with gas or electric fires to get all snuggled up in a lovely warm living space this winter. Each caravan is insulated adding that extra warmth.

Heron Lakes is expanding!

It is indeed. In summer 2018, Heron Lakes received Planning permission to expand the Holiday Park. Now Heron Lakes is at capacity for stunning new Lodges, with the last plot sold only a few weeks ago, this exciting news allows Heron Lakes to offer new lodge plots, new lakes, facilities on site and something a little different.

Starting at the beginning of next year New lakes, lodges and more will soon be appearing on site. The Heron Lakes we know and love will soon look twice as stunning.

So what will we see first?

With so much exciting development happening on site we will be starting the expansion in phases.

First to happen on site will be around the boating lake. Ever wanted your own lake front Holiday Lodge? Well now there will be 14 brand new plots along the length of the largest lake on site. How are lodges built? Are the warm? Will they withstand British weather?

All our Lodges are Built with 5 layers of protection. From insulation to bonded moisture barriers, making sure your lodge is a comfortable as possible.

Lodges as standard are clad in timber. Creating a stunning classic finish, timber cladding has maintenance involved. These lodges involve maintenance every year your lodge to ensure that you reseal and protect it from the elements.

However, here at Coastline Leisure we offer a solution that may interest you …. CanExel !

What is CanExel?

CanExel is a composite cladding made from wood fibre, resin and wax fused under pressure and finished in your chosen colour which consists of five coats of baked on paint.

Wanting no maintenance? This is the option for you!

This makes this style of cladding simple to maintain. It provides increase resistance to splitting, warping, splintering and buckling. With a 10 year guarantee!

Some of the lodges we show have CanExel as standard however for most, this is an extra so consider there will be an extra charge on the lodge price.

Lastly a third consideration before coming to see us is the PARK FEES!.  

Yes there is a park fee every year after purchasing your lodge. As well as Maintenance bills for the use of electricity, water etc. Remember different parks have different fees due to location. Depending on what park suits you best, all information will be explained our friendly team on site.
