Heron Lakes Expansion Update!

Heron Lakes Expansions Update!

Here at Heron Lakes Holiday Lodge park we are well on the way with the expansion work. The mindful expansion will include more lodge plots, new lakes and a cafe / bistro on site.

The boating lake is now well under way with the first plots already taking shape and two of these have already been reserved! There is another 12 plots available along the largest lake we have on site. These plots can accommodate twin lodges, whether it be a glass fronted beauty or a traditional style lodge there is no doubt it will look at home here.

We have also been very busy on the ‘Fountain Lake’ with progress been made every day, we are sure this is going to be a stunning area of the park.

So what’s next?

Another exciting addition to the boating lake will be a Cafe/ Bistro. Currently Heron Lakes has no onsite facilities, and that is all about to change

A cafe bistro will be the first addition in terms of facilities to Heron Lakes. We hope the cafe will be a great meeting space and a hive of excitement when it’s up and running.

A local company is running the cafe, and  you will be able to grab a sandwich, cake and a coffee, as well a refreshing glass of wine or beer if you so wish, as yes, it will be licensed!Architectural plan of Heron Lakes expansion

New Lakes, New Lodges!

Heron Lakes expansion - boating lake mapped out area

Mapped out areas for new plots on the boating lake development.

Heron Lakes is known for its stunning lakes and the impressive wildlife that comes with it. Extensive thought has gone into how Heron Lakes should continue to hold onto the coveted title.

In terms of the expansion, that means more strategically placed lakes. Before the plots there will be more lakes yes indeed. A new space in the centre of the left side of the park will now boast a new lake, the ‘fountain lake’, which will have space to hold 18 new spacious plots.

We know with a little imagination this could be you. Why wait! We can talk your through owning a plot on Heron Lakes. With plenty to choose from you can be one of the first to choose the perfect one for you. It could be in the middle of the boating lake’s development or nestled in the corner of the new lake.

Conservation efforts.

As is the nature of Heron Lakes, over the years the park has become a recognised nature reserve and wildlife sanctuary for migratory birds, local wildlife and endangered species. Conservation efforts are at the forefront of everything that will happening on site. With specialist measures to make sure the fauna and flora will be minimally changed and protected, All additions to the park will be under the train eye and supervision of Ecologists and Landscapers. Heron Lakes will soon be an even more spectacular nature reserve.

A taster of whats to come!

Well that’s not all. What has been described in this blog is just Phase 1, there will be more to come taking years to get to the achieved goal. More Plots, More rentals, more options, more lakes and an option to own something different. From floating lodges, yurts and shepherds huts. There will be something to spark every interest and possibility when owning a Holiday Home.

Dog Friendly Lodge Tips!

As going away as a family with your four legged best friend is becoming more and more popular we decided to give our top Dog Friendly Lodge Tips!

Including your dog in your holiday and lodge plans can reap huge benefits. For example you would have no kennel fees or wouldn’t have to worry about getting a pet passport.

All four of our parks operate on a dog friendly policy, where we ensure that dogs feel welcome.

To make sure you are fully prepared and that your dog feels welcome here are some our top tips…

Prepare in advance!

Make sure you have prepared your journey; have your pit stops planned and remember to pack your dog’s bowl.  It’s important to stop frequently to allow your dog to stretch and break the journey up.  If you are new to your lodge try and get as much information as you can, therefore you can plan in advance things like the area and any activities. Also, creating a list of things you need always helps and makes sure that every one stays happy. It also ensures that you don’t run out of  any supplies, especially doggy treats!

Make your dog feel at home!

This is very important as you want to ensure that your dog manages to settle into the lodge. This will help you relax and ensure you all get a good nights sleep. It’s a good idea to bring their dog bed, blankets and toys that they are used to from home. Dogs like habit and routine therefore will be able to adjust quicker when they feel comfortable.

It’s a good idea to show your dog the surroundings as well, this helps them get to know the area quicker and again will help them relax and get used to the new scenery.

Plan fun activities around your dog!

It’s really essential that you plan all your trips around your dog. Make sure that if you are visiting anywhere that dogs are welcome and that they accommodate animals.

Theres plenty to do around our parks in Yorkshire, with the majority being dog friendly.

Make sure your dog is well trained and kept safe!

This works for all dog owners, making sure that you are polite when it comes to your dog and appreciating everyone around you. It’s important to remember that not everyone likes dogs, therefore ensuring that your dog is kept on a lead in restricted areas and respecting others.

You want to ensure that your dog is kept safe, especially at night. Make sure you lock up your lodge and it’s a great idea to get your dog micro chipped.

Lastly, make sure you get the local vet numbers for the area on standby, you can never be too careful. It saves the panic in case you did need to take them to the vets or have any emergency questions.

 Interested?

As mentioned, our parks are all dog friendly. We offer lodge rentals at Heron Lakes where you would be able to get a feel for owning your own lodge or simply enjoy a short break !

Also, at High Farm Country Park we have dog friendly cottages available to rent. For more information , please visit our website Coastline Leisure or call 01964 541777.
